The FAMHP is publishing the audit report ‘Inspection, biovigilance and external communication with fertility centres’ in the wake of the sperm donor case.
Today, the FAMHP is releasing the audit report carried out by the Federal Internal Audit (FIA) regarding the sperm donor who carried a TP53 gene mutation and the failure to comply with the legal limit of six women per donor.
This audit, requested by Minister Frank Vandenbroucke, focused on internal processes for inspection, biovigilance, handling external complaints and external communication, as well as their compliance with legislation.
The internal audit is now complete and the audit report is available on our website (available in Dutch and French).
Its publication reflects the FAMHP’s commitment to transparency and accountability towards citizens and the families concerned.
We would like to emphasise that this case remains a priority for the AFMPS.
The findings of this report are being taken into account by the agency in its recovery plan.
