On 08/04/2010, the FAMHP issued a statement on breast implants manufactured by the firm Poly Implant Prothese (PIP). It then asked distributors of these implants, pharmacists, physicians and people who use them, to stop their distribution, delivery, use and export waiting for the results of controls carried out by the «Agence Française de Sécurité Sanitaire des Produits de Santé» (AFSSAPS), following the use in the manufacture of these implants of silicone gel different from the one approved. The results of such controls are now available. They do not show a serious risk to the health of involved patients. These implants are now not manufactured any more.
