Registration of antibiotics in VAMREG: e-learning for veterinarians

date: 08/09/2026

Since 1 July 2026, the use of antibiotics in all horses and aquaculture fish (intended for food production) must be recorded in the VAMREG application. The FAMHP and AMCRA are offering an e-learning course to support veterinarians with a medicinal products depot and active in these sectors in their use of this new application. A question-and-answer session is also planned.

Since 1 July 2026, the use of antibiotics in all horses and aquaculture fish (intended for food production) in Belgium must be recorded in the VAMREG application.

All veterinarians with a medicinal products depot must therefore activate their VAMREG account in order to access the application and upload their data.

To support the veterinarians concerned with these new procedures, the Federal Agency for Medicines and Health Products (FAMHP) and the non-profit association Antimicrobial Consumption and Resistance in Animals (AMCRA) are offering an e-learning course.

A live question-and-answer session will also be organised on Tuesday 15 September 2026 (Dutch) and Wednesday 16 September 2026 (French).

For whom?
This e-learning course is essential for veterinarians with a medicinal products depot and active in these sectors.

It is also strongly recommended for veterinarians with a medicinal products depot who work in companion animal medicine and who wish to familiarise themselves with VAMREG and voluntarily record their use of antibiotics.

Content of the e-learning course
During this e-learning course, veterinarians can learn how to access the application, how to declare the antibiotics they have purchased and used (IN and OUT registers), which deadlines apply, and how to correct declarations.
