On 1 July 2026 VAMREG is officially launched. This new FAMHP application facilitates data collection on the volume of sales, and the use and the supply of antibiotics for animals used in animals in Belgium.
Legal obligation
From 1 July 2026, the following stakeholders must submit certain data via VAMREG (Veterinary Antimicrobial Register):
• veterinarians with a medicinal products depot;
• registered pharmacists-in-charge of a pharmacy open to the public.
This obligation follows article 57 of Regulation (EU) 2019/6 and Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2021/578, which require member states to collect data on the volume of sales and the use of antimicrobial medicinal products.
Phased implementation
Registration will be introduced step by step, depending on the animal species and the type of transaction. Please find all stages in the comprehensive schedule on our website.
For animals that need to be identified and registered in Sanitel, data collection will continue to be carried out via Sanitel-Med.
How to submit a declaration?
You can submit your declaration in VAMREG in several ways:
• manually via the web application;
• via a CSV file;
• automatically via a machine-to-machine connection.
