On 1 January 2025, the FAMHP is launching the online application Vet-AM Sales for the declaration of sales figures of antibiotics for veterinary use in Belgium. Vet-AM Sales will be integrated into the PharmaStatus application.
The Federal Agency for Medicines and Health Products (FAMHP) has developed the application Vet-AM Sales which allows marketing authorisation holders (MAHs) and manufacturers of medicated feed (MMFs) to declare sales figures of antibiotics for veterinary use in Belgium. The aim of the application is to secure data transfer.
Vet-AM Sales will be launched on 1 January 2025 and will be integrated into Pharmastatus. Within the scope of this project, sales data will be requested every six months from MAHs and once a year from MMFs.
European and Belgian reporting
The sales figures submitted by the MAHs and MMFs will be used for European reporting on the sale of antibiotic products for veterinary use in Belgium to the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and for Belgian reporting in the context of the Belgian Veterinary Surveillance of Antibiotic Consumption (BelVet-SAC) report.
Calculation of the tax for marketing authorisation holders
Using the sales figures submitted by MAHs, their fee can be directly calculated based on the criticality of the active substances used in the medicinal products sold.
