The European Medicines Agency (EMA) issued a positive opinion for Comirnaty, the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine, making it the first COVID-19 vaccine that could be authorised for marketing in the European Union. The FAMHP Medication errors working group has received 112 notifications of proven or potential errors since 2016. Thanks to these notifications, corrective or preventive measures were put in place, in collaboration with the pharmaceutical industry. The Agency encourages healthcare professionals and patients to report any actual or potential medication error.

Due to the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, there is an increased need for oxygen in Belgium for patients with respiratory problems. The FAMHP asks all actors and users not to stockpile and return unused or empty material to the supplier as soon as possible.
