In Belgium, antimicrobial use (AMU) and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) are monitored in various contexts, including human medicine, food-producing animals and the food chain. As the results of these different programmes are reported separately, it can be difficult to obtain a clear overview of trends in AMR and AMCs across all sectors in Belgium.
The BELMAP report aims to provide this overview – summarising in detail the results and trends of existing surveillance programmes in all sectors – and to refer readers to the detailed sector-specific reports. Through cross-sectoral collaboration, the BELMAP network can also identify potential gaps and make recommendations for improving surveillance in the future.
The development of the interactive digital report makes it easier to find specific information.
